Carlos Almaraz - West Coast Crash (1990)
The de Young Museum has a fabulous Chicano exhibition that we checked out yesterday. I was really impressed with the work of Carlos Almaraz. The Museum was only recently reopened after a huge renovation. It's not bad, there isn't much of a natural flow between the rooms which can be frustrating but there is some great work in there. If you're ever in SF go by, it's in the gorgeous Golden Gate Park and there's an amazing view from the top of the tower. Make sure you put aside a whole morning or afternoon for it though, if you try and rush it you'll leave feeling slightly disappointed.
